TRADE ACCESS PROGRAMME (TAP) Funding

The BPA is the Department for International Trade's (DIT) Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) for the UK’s nursery industry. Therefore all grant applications to exhibit at overseas trade shows (whether as part of the BPA’s UK Pavilion scheme or independently) should be submitted to us.

Please note: Whilst only Baby Products Association members can participate in UK Pavilions (as these are a membership benefit subsidised by the trade association) TAP grants are available to both members and non-members at DIT approved events. For 2017, funding is available for CBME Shanghai, Kind und Jugend in Cologne; and ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas (full information about all of these event can be found on this website).

The UK economy is facing its toughest challenge for a generation and boosting UK exports is a crucial driver of economic recovery and is a critical part of the Government’s long-term economic growth plan.

The Prime Minister has set a national challenge to raise the number of small and medium sized businesses that export from the one in five today, to one in four by 2020. This increase equates to a significant £36 billion or more added to the UK economy.

The BPA is one of 98 Trade Challenge Partners committed to supporting and encouraging its members to export and can provide information and advice on UKTI funding and process grant applications on members’ behalf. How UKTI can help

UKTI can give advice on whether a firm is ready to export. If so, it can help with an export plan, counsel on the right markets and the right people to deal with in those markets, advise on grants for trade missions or overseas trade fairs, set up meetings and generally help to make business happen.

Capacity building services

There are a number of UKTI services available to companies at every level of their exporting journey.

Passport to Export provides new and inexperienced exporters with the training, planning and advice and ongoing support they need to succeed overseas.

Gateway to Global Growth is a service for experienced exporters. It offers a strategic review, planning advice and support to help companies to build on their previous success and develop new overseas markets.

Export Communication Review (ECR) assesses the way companies communicate with overseas customers, for example websites, promotional materials, packaging and press releases and provides a bespoke report with in-depth and practical recommendations.

Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) is a tailored service and can help you to access market and industry information, identify potential contacts or assist in planning an event.
